For a holistic development of student’s personality, co-curricular activities and sports are as much important as academics. DAV College, Jalandhar rays equal stress on co-curricular activities. The department of co-curricular activities have discovered, groomed and presented many TV, Stage, Radio, films etc of the more prominent ones have been the noted ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, Sufi Singer Hans Raj Hans and playback artists Sukhwindera. To lone the latent skills of the young learners, the college holds a talent search contest every year in the beginning of every session. The selected students are trained for participating in various cultural activities especially the youth festivals organized by the University.

Participation in Guru Nanak Dev University Youth Festival:

The CCA department has been bagging top honors in the university youth festivals. It lifted the champion trophy (boys) in 2002 and since then it has been the first runners up .Folk Dances team won first place in the university Inter-Zonal Youth festival for two years in a row and won first place in the university Inter –Zonal Youth festival for two years in a row and won second place in 2006-2007.The college represented GNDU in North Zonal Festival at Jammu in 2005-06.

Visits of Alumni Artists:

Sh. Jagjit Singh, the renowned ghazal singer paid a visit to his alma-maker in August 2003.He not only regarded the ecstatic students with his melodious voice but also recounted the golden days he spent as a student here. Jassi,the popular Punjabi pop-star also visited the college in 2005 and entertained the students with his famous numbers.

Motivated and talented faculty:

The college is fortunate in having a number of faculty members who themselves excel in co-curricular activities. Prof. Satish Tandon is a noted script writer for television and films. A winner of Sahtya Shiromani Award, Prof.Tandon is an accomplished interviewer for T.V and Radio. Dr. A.K sharma is a regular contributor to Jalandhar Doordarshan and A.I.R, Jalndhar. Prof Arun Mehra is a stage director of repute .Prof. Sharad Manocha is the quiz Master for the all the universities of Punjab.Prof.B.S. Narang, the renowned classical vocalists of Punjab Gharana was member of the faculty till his retirement in May 2005. Besides there a number of family members are on the judgment panel of various university Youth festivals.

Participation in National Youth Festival:

 The College Folk Dance Team had unique honor of representing the state at National Youth Festival organized by M.H.R.D from 2002 to 2004 at Tata Nagar. Trivendrum and Ahmedabad. Prior to it, it also participated in N.y.f at Hissar in 2001 and bagged third positions.
