Conferences organized:

DST sponsored Three Day National conference on Modern Trends in Chemical Science and Technology (MT CST-2005) on 15th ,16th and 17th October, 2005 was organized by PG Department of Chemistry ,which was attendant by many eminent scientists, research scholars and academicians:

The conference was inaugurated by Dr. P. Balaram, Director Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and presided over by Dr. S. P. Singh, Vice Chancellor,GNDU Amritsar .

The key note address was delivered by Dr. Tulsi Mukherjee, Director Chemistry group, BARC Tromboy.

Invited talks were delivered by following eminent scientists:

• Dr. P.V. Bhartam – NIPER, SAS Nagar, Mohali.                                                                  
• Dr. G.S Randhawa- HOD, Biotechnology Department, IIT Roorkee

• Dr. A.K Bakshi, Dr. Gurmeet Singh and Dr. P. N. Kapoor- Delhi University
• Dr B.S. Sekhon- Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana .
• Dr. C. Sriniwas – BARC, Trombay.
• Dr  R. K. Mahajan, Dr. Subodh Kumar, Dr T. S. Lubana from GNDU, Amritsar.
• Dr G. S. Chandan, H.P. University, Shimla .

A large number of research scholars from all over India presented their research papers in both oral and poster sessions.

Faculty members from our Department: Dr R. P. Sharma, Dr. R. K. Sharma and Geetanjali Kaushal also presented their research papers at the conference .
