Department of Extra Mural Activities under the patronage of Principal Dr. V.K. Tewari and able leader ship of Dean EMA Prof. Arun Mehra remained alive in finding, nurturing, grooming and presenting talented artists during the session 2007-08.

EMA Annual Function:- A glittering cultural eve was arranged on the Annual Function of Department of Extra Mural Activities in the College auditorium on 1st March, 2008. Rana Gurjit Singh, MP Jalandhar was the Chief guest of the Day. It was also an occasion to felicitate an illustrious alumnus, Padama Shree Hans Raj Hans, the celebrated Sufiana Singer for being awarded the coveted Padama Shree Award by Govt of India. Our former colleague and alumnus and Guru of Sh. Hans Raj Hans and an accomplished classical vocalist, Prof. B.S. Narang was also felicitated. Besides these celebrities, The EMA Department also honoured former artists of the Department who have made a name in their chosen fields. Sh. Chetan Sharda, a stage and TV artist, now a senior journalist, Sh. Neeraj Kaushik, renowned play writer and director and Ms. Rekha Kashyap, a budding artist and winner of Chuk De Funjabi, a laughter programme on Star plus were the recipients of honours. The services of all members of the Department were duly recognized.

A massive audience enjoyed three-hour cultural feast and brilliant cameo performance by Padam Shree Hans Raj Hans was a cherry on the cake.

ANNUAL REPORT 2007-2008
We participated in Boys as well as Girls Inter-Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University and won fifty four positions in all.
GNDU ZonaI Youth Festival (Boys): We bagged First Runners-up Trophy in Boys Zone with the following positions.
First: Collage, Phulkari, Poetical Symposium, Elocution, Skit, Mime, Play, Vaar, Western Solo.
Second: Painting (LS), Rangoli, Histrionics, Mimicry, Classical Inst (Percussion)
Third: Flower Argmt (Fresh), Installation, Quiz, Semi Classical Vocal, Shabad Bhajan, Group Shabad/Bhajan, Group Song (lndian), Folk Orchestra, Western Group Song, Bhangra.
GNDU Zonal Youth Festival (Girls) : We won the following positions:
First: Vaar Singing.
Second: Poster, Rangoli, Debate, Western Vocal, Western Group Song, Gidha, FolkSong.
Third: Cartooning, Elocution, Histrionics, Play, Folk Orchestra, Shabad/ Bhajan, Geet/Ghazal.
GNDU lnter Zonal Youth Festival: We got the following places:
First: Folk Song, Vaar.
Second: Painting (LS) Elocution, Skit, Western Vocal Solo, Gidha.
Third: Debate, Fancy Dress, Mime, Play, Western Group Song, Bhangra, Western Solo.
Besides the above places, we bagged Folk Trophy in the Inter-Zonal Youth festival for the first time.
