Punjabi Department organised freshers party named "Swagti Samarao"

Punjabi Department of D.A.V College organised Freshers party named " Swagti Samarao" for the new comers by their seniors in MA final year.

The fresher party was huge hit thanks to the input of the seniors,where as the juniors were overwhelmed with the love and gratitude they got.

The program started with lightning of lamp by Principal Dr. B.B.Sharma, Head of the department Prof R.B.Singh and President if Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Prof Rajan Sharma.

Principal Dr B.B.Sharma addressed the gathering while stating that Punjabi as a language and as civilization is now spreaded whole around the globe.Its a land of preachers,saints,and the popularity of this very language is touching the roof.Deptt of punjabi is full of scholars, work hard to make your name in this world.

Harpreet and Bharti started the program by reciting shabd.Gurchetan called HOD Dr R.B.Sharma for blessings. He shared with everyone that its been 28 years of his service in D.A.V College Jalandhar, he learnt alot during these years, now that newbees are part of our prestigious college we hope they learn alot,and become a better person and he welcomed Prof Kamaldeep Singh,Prof Sukhdev Singh Randhawa, Prof Devinder Mand,Prof Balwinder Singh, Prof S.K.Midha,Prof Kanwarjeet Singh,Prof Satpal Singh,Prof Manjeet Singh,Prof Anurag Sharma, Prog J.R.Garg,Prof Rajan Sharma, Prof Gurcharan,Prof Satinder Kaur,Prof Indu,Prof Gazal, Prof Baljeet Kaur,Prof Gurinder Kaur,Prof Kailash.

Taking the celebration to next step, Deepak(B.A) "mera desh hove punjab", Dilpreet(B.A) "Main Ek Sikhra Yaar Bunaya", Kasam Khan "Heer bun gaye Aan" and Gurchatan recited her poem and won many hearts.

Harpreet and Gagan danced on "tere kaanak di rakhi mundiya", Priyanka groved her feet octavon "gooriyan pairan which chandi di changra" and Gagan danced on "batti baal ke".
Prof Tosheen sang an song and made everyone emotional and Prof Rajan Sharma lighten the mood while singing "Gaddi agaye ha taition se".

Seniors organised games like lemon spoon game whose winner were Amandeep Singh and Ramandeep Kaur.
