- Prof.N.K.Neb has been awarded the degree of Ph.D. from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He worked on “The Novels of Shobha De: A critical study of Her Fictional World”.
- Prof.R.K.Sharma delivered a lecture to M.A.English students at Kamala Nehru College for Women, Phagwara.
- Prof.R.K.Parashar: delivered a lecture on “ Why Study Literature” at Govt.College, Hoshiarpur.

Dr.V.K.Tiwari : delivered a literature on “Quality Education for All” at an AIFUCTO session at Jodhpur.

Prof.Renu Gupta & Prof.Sonika Dania: attended a U.G.C. sponsored conference on “ Recent Trends in India Writing in English” at DAV college for Girls, Yamunanagar(Haryana).

- Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Head of the Post-Graduate Dept.of English, G.N.D.U. delivered an extension lecture on Halliday and his Theory of Functional Linguistics [Jan.10, 2006].

Dr.V.K.Tewari visited Surinam under Cultural Exchange Programme of U.G.C. from November 16 to December 3, 2005.

Dr.Kirpal Singh, Dr.N.K.Neb, Prof.Arvind Arora and Prof.(Mrs.)Renu Gupta participated in a 2-day National Seminar on Diasporic Studies: Theory, Literature and Arts sponsored by U.G.C. at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar on 15th and 16th December 2005.

- Dept.of English celebrated the confluence of MA I with MA II students on Nov.9,2006. This glamorous Interaction Party was organized under the auspices of the English seminar headed by Prof.B.P.S.Bedi, Prof.Bodh Raj, Dr.S.K.Arora,Prof.Parashar,Prof Rakesh Kumar and Prof.Sanjeev Sharma groomed the students for various items including group dance, role, comic-educative skit, modeling, comparing etc.The Chief-guest Principal(Dr.)Satish Kumar Sharma applauded the winners and achievers and was deeply impressed by the huge talent of the performers Prof.R.K.Sharma,Head of the Post graduate Dept of English-expressed satisfaction over the University Results of M.A.I and M.A.II during the session 2005-06. As many as twenty students of M.A. I who had secured 55% marks or more were felicitated by the Principal Mr.Anand Bajaj who won the Gold Medal for securing top position in MA II English was honoured with a trophy. Mr.Manpreet Singh and Miss Savdha Kalia were adjudged Mr Elegant and Miss Elegant respectively by a team of Judges comprising Mrs.Renu Gupta,Mrs Sonika Dania and Prof.Rakesh Kumar. The students had a lot of fun as they danced and discoed to the foot-tapping music of D.J.
- Prof.R.K.Sharma delivered an Extension lecture at Kamla Nehru College for Women Phagwara, on the subject :- “Shakespeare’s HAMLET in the light of Aristotelian Tragedy” The lecture was attended by the Principal, Mrs Kusum verma,members of the Faculty of English and Post-graduate students of the Dept.of English and was highly appreciated.
