During last five years a number of activities have been performed by Prof. Parveen Sharma, which were instrumental in promoting the interest of department (subject) institution and nation at large. Some of the highlights are briefly mentioned as follow :- Registration of Ph.D Registration for Ph.D under the topic of “Problem of Freedom and Determinism in the philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev and Spinoza” – A Comparative Study”. The registration was done in June 2002 in GNDU Guru Nanak Study under the Guidance of Dr. Jaswinder Dhillon. Member Board of study Prof. Parveen Sharma remained member of board of study for most of the years. At present he is still member board of studies. Many changes in the syllabus of various classes were advised including a major change of introducing practical in BA II. Consequently practical in philosophy subject was introduced last year which would prove beneficial to the student in future. Presentation of papers in international conferences Two papers have been presented in international conferences : 1) “Concept of Creation in Raag Maaru was presented on 28th Jan 2006 where Sikh Scholars all over the world participated and the paper was highly appreciated and later published in International Journal of “Sikh religious studies”. Both the conferences were conducted at GNDU by the Department of Guru Nanak Study Centre. Participation in various conferences : Resource person: Delivered talks on Sikh Philosophy as a resource person at B.D Arya College and GNDU.
Dean CCA As Dean Cultural Activities, Prof. Parveen Sharma was instrumental in conducting a number of functions and staging a number of artists of international fame both from India and Pakistan like Gazal Maestro Jagjit Singh, Jassi, Sarabjit Cheema, Ustad Shrafat Ali Khan(Pakistan), Hans Raj Hans, Gurdas Mann, Harbhajan Man, Nasibo Laila(Pak), Akram Rahi and a number of other singers and stage artists of International fame. Some prominent alumni from abroad were honored in the College. Students were motivated during my tenure as Dean CCA from April 2003 to April 2006, to participate in various competitions in order to enable their growth at all levels of personality. |
